SEEKING GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS

Day by Day Prayer Points to Humble Oursleves Before God

Dear Lord...

1. Help me to seek You first every day and to be thankful.

2. Give me wisdom to know when I am deceived and open my heart to all truth.

3. Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit.

4. Don't let anyone lead me astray with empty philosophy and vain deceit.

5. Give me a spirit of humility.

6. Give me a strong desire for righteousness and holiness.

7. Soften my heart that I may have a teachable spirit.

8. By Your power help me to cast down all strongholds in my life.

9. Reveal the true condition of my heart and cultivate a right spirit within me.

10. Let my actions reflect Your values and not those of the world.

11. Place a burden of prayer and fasting in my heart and in my lifestyle.

12. Break me from the need to be in control that I may submit to my spiritual leaders.

13. Show me when I am rebellious and do things that are contrary to Your will.

14. May I always be reminded that I will reap what I sow.

15. Help me cultivate a desire in my heart to be obedient to Your Holy Word.

16. Help me forgive those who hurt me and to show mercy as You have shown mercy
to me.

17. Fill my heart with peace, happiness, and joy and help me focus on heavenly things.

18. Fill me with Your goodness so that it becomes a natural way to treat others.

19. Give me strength to resist temptation and harmful habits that might control me.

20. Open my ears to Your voice as Your Spirit leads me.

21. Fill my heart with repentance for the things I have done that grieve You.

22. Please remove bitterness in my heart that causes me to harbor unforgiveness.

23. Let my words and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight.

24. Please remove the pride that keeps me from seeing myself as You see me.

25. Give me the desire to obey You and the power to please You.

26. Help me to bless You at all times and let Your praises continually be in my mouth.

27. Because there is power in words, help me to speak only good things.

28. Help me to never grieve Your Spirit.

29. Empower me with Your strength so that the enemy's tactics won't entice me.

30. Help me to always know and recognize truth.

31. Transform me into Your likeness.

2011 - The Year of Salt and Light

"Ye are the salt of the earth...Ye are the light of the world..."

(Matthew 5:13-14).

Seed
We have been commissioned by the Lord to go into our world with the gospel.
Each day we must be salt (preserving) and light (pushing back the darkness).

Let us follow the PURE path He has placed before us. It is one worth taking.

Preserving  Understanding  Renewing Embracing

Everyone Counts
By Bonnie Peacock

On a quiet street I took to work over the years stood a small, frame house. Nothing about it was impressive or eye-catching. The paint peeled and the roof sagged from years under the hot, West Texas sun.

However, it was moved to a museum. Why?

George and Barbara Bush once lived there. One of the little boys who ran and played in the small yard was George W. Bush. The father and son both later became presidents of the United States of America!

Who would have thought that people of prominence and power would come from such humble circumstances?

As we work for the Lord, we meet many people. Some seem ideal prospects. They're such good people, they would make perfect Christians!

Others appear hopeless. We wonder if there is any use picking the filthy child up for Sunday school or inviting a dysfunctional family to a church picnic. Yet how can we know? The least likely person we meet may become a missionary or great soul winner.

Imagine a pebble tossed into a pond. It ripples outward toward the shore. The same is true when one lost soul is saved. That person's influence will affect their family members, co-workers, and acquaintances who will in turn impact others who will touch countless others.

We cannot pick and choose who God draws. It is not His will that anyone is lost. (See II Peter 3:9.) Our job is to be conduits of His love to those in our sphere of influence. We must make the gospel available to everyone. (See Revelation 22:17.)

We may wonder who will stick, if an addict could possibly be delivered from his vices, or if an abusive parent can change. But God can do anything. (See Luke 1:37.)

We can feel helpless in the face of the enormous task Christ set before us. (See Mark 16:15.) We cannot save anyone and may become disheartened when our best efforts seem futile.

When a seed is planted, we cannot see when it begins to take root or sprout. Only when its tender shoots break through the soil do we see anything. So it is with a soul. A person may experience a change of heart long before it is apparent.

We rarely glimpse the big picture. Many people may impact a single life over a period of years, but it is God who ultimately saves them. (See I Corinthians 3:6.) We do our part, realizing only God can change a heart and life.

Hang on. Don't give up. Keep loving and reaching, hoping and praying. Only eternity will reveal the impact of a life lived with the intent of touching others for the kingdom of God.

What Is Prayer Walking?

Prayer walking is praying in the area of determined need. Volunteers meet at a specific site to cover a designated area with focused prayer. This can involve one person or a group. Those participating go on site to pray for a specified time, focusing on families, neighborhoods, cities, and needs.

Prayer walking does not necessarily mean walking all the time. A site, area, or neighborhood is selected and a meeting time and place is designated. The group then goes forth to pray...some walking, some standing looking over a site, some finding a place to sit while praying and some may drive around a specific area, meeting back at the designated place.

Does prayer walking draw attention? No. This is not a religious parade, a literature distribution effort, or a witness walk. There is not loud praying, singing or attracting attention in any way by actions, appearance or advertisement. This would turn the prayer walk into an attention-getting device and the purpose would be destroyed. It is vital to observe local ordinances, laws, customs, curfews and to respect private property and people who might find your presence offensive. The intention is to pray unobtrusively and quietly, but fervently, in an area without drawing attention to yourself or your activity.

"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power" (Ephesians 1:18-19).
